Through lessons in Global and Cultural Education, you can better understand your own culture, explore other cultures, and develop a better understanding of a multi-cultural society. You can explore other cultures, learn to appreciate differences and treat other’s values, beliefs, cultures and lifestyles with respect.

OPPORTUNITIES TO EXPLORE

  • Visit your local library and explore books on different cultures, history of Germans from Russian immigration to North Dakota or even folklore from different countries.
  • Take a visit to the ND Heritage center in Bismarck or visit your local county museum.
  • Learn to cook foods from around the world by taking the virtual Globetasters club course.
  • Interview a family member to learn more about your heritage.
  • Attend an Indian Relay race or a Powwow to learn more about Native American culture.
  • Learn about the different holidays and traditions your classmates or club members celebrate.
  • Visit Clover by 4-h.org to explore more fun games and activities.

CAREERS

There are many careers that you can explore in this project area! Interested in teaching? Become an english or foreign language teacher, history teacher or even an aid to help students where English is not their first language. Interested in exploring the world? Become a flight attendant, travel agent, global marketer, interpreter or even an art curator. Interested in working in government? You can explore careers such as a trade compliance officer or be a policy maker.
