Adaptive Garden
Adaptive gardening is the practice of removing physical and psychological barriers to gardening to allow individuals of all abilities to reap the benefits of gardening. Located at the entrance to the garden, the brick raised beds are designed for gardeners who may be wheelchair-bound or otherwise unable to bend or garden in ground-level beds. With the aid of long-handled tools, individuals can garden from a wheel chair in the u-shaped bays. The raised beds are surrounded by concrete for accessibility and are planted with attractive annual flowers and ornamental grasses.
