Extension Master Gardener Core Course Scholarships

The NDSU Extension Master Gardener Program is proud to offer two scholarships to help North Dakota residents become trained Extension Master Gardeners. A total of $500 is available to cover the course fees for the 2027 Extension Master Gardener Core Course.

Tanya Lita Chalimonczyk Memorial Scholarships

Award: $250

Eligibility:

  • Must be accepted into the 2027 NDSU Extension Master Gardener Core Course
  • Must be a resident of North Dakota
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Must not receive employer reimbursement for the core course training fee

The scholarship, valued at approximately $250, is designed to support NDSU Extension Master Gardener core course applicants. This scholarship is dedicated to honoring the horticultural legacy of Tanya Lita Chalimonczyk, a graduate of North Dakota State University and long-time Extension Master Gardener. If you meet the above eligibility requirements and are in need of financial assistance, we encourage you to apply for the Tanya Lita Chalimonczyk Memorial Scholarship. Scholarship applications will be available to all ND residents following acceptance into the NDSU Extension Master Gardener Program.

Please note this scholarship is not available to Pro-Hort applicants.

Scholarship Application Timeline

Applications are due no later than December 15, 2026.
