Precision agriculture is a management approach that uses GPS and other technologies to optimize crop and livestock production. By monitoring field position and conditions in real time, producers can apply inputs precisely where and when they are needed. Tools include equipment guidance and automatic steering, yield monitoring, variable rate application, remote sensing, in-field sensors, section and row control on planters, sprayers and fertilizer applicators, and data management systems. These technologies improve efficiency, sustainability and productivity in agriculture.
